Acer has showcased its Microsoft Mango-based smartphone, the W4, at the ongoing Computex 2011. But Acer did not offer the smartphone for visitors to test its functionality as it is waiting for Microsoft to release more details of the Mango OS.
The company will continue to improve some of the W4's performance before it begins volume production of the smart device in the fourth quarter of 2011, according to the company.
Other branded handset vendors, including HTC, Nokia, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, ZTE, and Fujitsu, will also cooperate with Microsoft to launch Mango phones.
In addition to the W4 smartphone, Acer also displayed a new version of its Liquid Mini smartphone upgraded to Android 2.3 from the previous Android 2.2.
